NEW! Forsyth-Monroe County Sports Hall of Fame
Inductee Wall of Fame
The public unveiling of the Forsyth-Monroe County Sports Hall of Fame’s Inductee Wall of Fame will be held in the lobby of the new basketball gymnasium at the Monroe County Recreation Department at 100 Dan Pitts Drive at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 1, 2026.
Thanks to the gracious support of the Monroe County Board of Commissioners and the Monroe County Recreation Department, the new gymnasium lobby will permanently house the Forsyth-Monroe County Sports Hall of Fame inductee plaques. The Forsyth-Monroe County Sports Hall of Fame Board had been seeking a permanent home for the Hall of Fame plaques ever since the inception of the Hall of Fame in 2017. The Forsyth Convention & Visitors Bureau was kind enough to display them on a temporary basis for several years at Alderman Hall, but Monroe County has now provided us a permanent spot in the county’s new, state-of-the-art basketball facility.
We look forward to showing you the beautiful Hall of Fame plaque gallery that has been created in a public location that is fitting to preserve the storied legacy of athletics in Monroe County. Each year, additional plaques will be added to the wall upon the induction of each new Hall of Fame class. We anticipate that the Inductee Wall of Fame will quickly become a highlight stop for locals and visitors to our great county.
